The world spends more than four trillion euro a year maintaining the structures we all depend on, and almost none of that money is guided by data. Bridges are closed on a hunch. Turbines are inspected on a calendar. And every so often something fails that nobody saw coming, and people get hurt.
We are building the first sensor of its kind, one that lets these structures report their own condition, fitted to what is already standing, for the next twenty years. There is no textbook to follow, no supplier catalogue to order from and no competitor to copy. Almost everything we build, somebody here is deciding for the first time.
That is the work, and it is not for everyone. It means living with open questions, choosing a direction before the evidence is complete, and being willing to be wrong in front of your colleagues. What you get back is rare. You get to shape a product, an industry habit and a company at the same time, and one day to know that something is still standing because of what you built.

About Safety Bolt
Safety Bolt develops wireless retrofit sensors that monitor bolted joints in critical infrastructure. Using magnetostrictive sensing, each sensor converts mechanical stress in a standard steel bolt into a measurable signal, giving asset owners continuous data on clamping force without modifying the joint or replacing any hardware. Measurements are transmitted over wireless to a cloud platform, where trend analysis and alerts identify developing risk long before a scheduled inspection would.
The company serves wind energy, bridges and civil infrastructure, rail, tunnels and mining, and heavy process industry. The technology is patented in the US, Europe and Asia and has been independently validated with several large industrial partners.
